GASP Students Complete 4-week Course at Stanhope-Seta

9th December 2024 | Company News

Congratulations to the six students from Chertsey High who completed their 4-week course with GASP at Stanhope-Seta.

Stanhope-Seta held a 4-week long course with GASP where six students from Chertsey High were challenged to design and build their very own rocket.

Throughout the course, the students acquired knowledge of Solidworks 3D graphic design, soldering, wire stripping and crimping and 3D printing processes. Their final challenge was to understand the purpose of marketing and product promotion which lead to the creation of their very own logos. By using regulated projectory, students were able to launch their rockets and see how fast they go.

The GASP Charity programme provide specialist, practical, hands on experiences to deliver courses in basic mechanics and practical engineering skills for young people between the ages of 14 and 19 years old. We are incredibly proud of the students who took part. Each individual showed an abundance of dedication, persistence and problem solving capabilities. Most of all, we are proud of their extended ability to work as a team and support one another when needed. We hope this first-hand experience within a manufacturing and engineering business will support their formal education and give them perspective of possibilities that can follow.

Seta are thrilled to support the GASP Charity programme and the students who attend. We hope to help inspire and prepare more bright, young engineers of the future. For more information on GASP and the opportunities at Seta, please email marketing@stanhope-seta.co.uk
